Okay, we all know who Mr Darcy is, right? The character from the novel Pride and Prejudice?

Anyway, for a while I've been on the "Why does everyone love him? Yes, he does some nice things but hes rude, abrupt, condecending, moody and arogant" side of the fence.

Yesterday I read the whole book again and watched the DVD. The one where Matthew MacFadyen plays Darcy and makes him vulnerable, agreeable, outstandingly loyal and the perfect man.

So, now i have to climb over the fence and join the "Darcy is wonderful." club. I HAVE to.

I'm such a traitor... but it's Darcy :/


It's lines like this:

“I have faults enough but they are not, I hope, of understanding. My temper I dare not vouch for….I cannot forget the follies and vices of others as soon as I ought, nor their offences against myself. My feelings are not puffed about with every attempt to move them. My temper would perhaps be called resentful. My good opinion, once lost, is lost for ever.”

And this:

"In vain have I struggled. It will never do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."

He's just so... passionate about everything.
